Chillicothe Intermediate School serves over 800 students for all students grades 3-6. Our state of the art building opened in January 2019 and is staffed with highly qualified staff dedicated to student growth. At Chillicothe City Schools, we believe every student can learn, lead, and make a difference. And, at CIS, these values are instilled in our children.
We offer several opportunities to our students in addition to the general curriculum. We have two STEM facilitators who work to incorporate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics into daily instruction as well as organizing learning opportunities through our Muddy Boots and Backpacks program partnership with the Ross County Parks and Recreation Department where our students complete environmental science research. We also offer a wellness class that focuses on social emotional development and general wellness through mindfulness activities. Our students also have the opportunity to participate in our student-run credit union through a partnership with Atomic Credit Union.
Chillicothe Intermediate School is a Leader In Me School. We incorporate Dr. Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People into our curriculum. Students learn the importance of setting goals and achieving those goals.
