Tiffin 3rd through 6th grade students took an hour Friday afternoon to start meeting in cross grade level leadership teams. The teams include -
Student teams will be meeting bi-weekly for the next few months.
The Science team took some time to decide on a direction for their studies this year. They decided to learn to do computer coding. To fill in for the rest of the first meeting, students were challenged to create the longest chain from a single sheet of notebook paper. Working in twos and threes students made a chain, measured it, then made some modifications before starting another chain. Two 6th graders created a strip of paper 6.63m in length. There was some discussion about whether or not it was actually a chain. They were awarded "most creative." Then they modified their design to make a more traditional chain. The longest chain completed within the hour was 2.13m by two 4th graders, and just over 2m by two 6th graders. Congrats to these creative problem-solvers!! Good luck to our leadership teams! It's great to be a Cavalier!
