Worthington Elementary held their first Leadership Day on May 15th.  Over 125 guests visited the school to learn about the wonderful things the students and staff are doing this year.  The guests were greeted by students from the welcome committee as they entered the building and led to our gym for the morning program.  Mr. Gall, a volunteer at Worthington Elementary addressed the guests and unveiled the banner of “Excellence” that now will be displayed in our gym for all to see.  Student leader Nico Cunningham served as the Master of Ceremonies along with student leaders Todd True 1st, Josh Wells 2nd,  Lucas Endicott 3rd, Maxwell Lee 2nd, Trenton Hart 3rd,  Taylor Haubeil 4th, Abby Sims-Clark 3rd, CJ Wright 4th, Faith Sparks 2nd, Hannah Barnes 5th, Abby Chidester 4th, Kennedy Weber, Olivia Hambrick, Alexa Oney, Miranda Stanley, Anna Potter, & Ellie Cochenour, Shayla Beard, Quiyanna Anderson, Alaska Davis, & Olivia Johnson, Julia Hall 5th, Claire Smith 4th, Dillon McClasky 4th, Miles Oyer 4th, Reese Hatfield 4th, Sarah Beck 4th, Liliauna Carver 4th, Jayvon Maughmer 5th, Drake Helton 5th, Aries Barnes 5th, Gunner Drees 5th, Sholanda Holt 5th, Parick Rourke 5th all assisting with the program.  A special thanks to our staff for organizing the event for our community and also for providing the opportunity for our students to demonstrate their leadership development.  It was great day for Worthington Elementary and our community!!  Photos

Welcome to the World’s Fair

Mr. Beverly’s Social Studies classes, at CMS2, are having a World’s Fair in the CMS 2 Gymnasium.  Parents and the community are invited from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Please visit to see the hard work which students have put into their projects and take a tour of the world.

Tiffin Welcomes Guest Reader Officer Meyers

Officer Ronald Meyers, father of fourth grade student Harrison, visited Tiffin Elementary this week as a guest reader.  Besides reading a wonderful story to Ms. Seidel’s fourth grade class, he shared about what it is like to be a police officer.  Thank you Officer Meyers for visiting our school!

Lexie Magill and Jenna Muirhead received a thank you note. A visitor that they had the opportunity to give a tour of the CMS building to on Leadership Day was very impressed with both young women.  Both of these young ladies, along with over twenty of their peers, took visitors around the CMS-1 building to show off the great things that are happening!  Great job Lexie and Jenna!

Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Essay Contest Results

Students in Mrs. Clark’s advanced reading classes competed in an essay contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The theme was “What Would I Tell America’s Founding Fathers?” Megan Baker won $25 and Mackenzie Elliott won $50. Congratulations to these young ladies!

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, 1 in 5 children are impacted by a seriously debilitating mental illness.  While these statistics are disheartening, many children may go undiagnosed or lack appropriate treatment for his/her specific disorder(s).  Furthermore, it is common for this marginalized population to encounter significant challenges in the educational environment.  Children with psychiatric disabilities often present with a multitude of symptoms that create chaos and barriers in the educational setting, leaving everyone to survive “The Emotional Hurricane.” 

Special Guest Reader Visits Tiffin Elementary

Former Tiffin Elementary principal, Charles Kolb, visited this week as a guest reader for Right to Read Week.  The third grade students thoroughly enjoyed the books that he read to them.  Thank you, Mr. Kolb for taking time to share some wonderful books with the students!
