Chillicothe Middle School sixth graders have been studying density for the past week. They have looked at the relationship of volume and mass in determining the density of various substances. They took measurements of cubes that all had the same volume, but different masses and densities. They looked at cylinders with the same mass, but different volumes. Then they determined the density of 4 mystery liquid substances and put them in a beaker in order of most to least dense to see if they could keep the liquids in layers. Many could do it. Now students are collecting items to bring in for a culminating Sink or Float activity.

Each spring we ask our parents and students to complete a survey so that teachers, principals, and the district office can determine how our parents and students feel about your school. It is an opportunity for parents and students to have a voice in their school. The results are used to help us plan for ways that we can improve. It lets us know what our students think is going well at school and what areas they feel we need to improve in.
CCSD opened its campus today to students from across Ross County to hear the message shared by NBA Great Dominque Wilkins. In a packed Hatton Gymnasium, he shared information about the obstacles he has overcome in life and his passion for finding a cure for diabetes. Check out the photos.
