It’s time to plan to attend the CHS, “Next Level” girls basketball camp.  Two sessions will be offered during this four day camp — June 10th – 13th. Grades 3-5 will meet and drill from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and grades 6 – 8 will meet and drill from 1 – 4:30 p.m. Girls from all area schools are invited to attend: grade levels are based on next year’s grade level.  The fee for this camp is $35 and includes a t-shirt. Registrations will be accepted up to the day camp begins, but early registration is recommended as session sizes are limited. This camp promises to deliver high-energy instruction on the fundamentals of the game for the basketball player of every skill level.  Girls can expect to improve their basketball skills under the coaching of current Cavalier team members and coaching staff. High School News, Old News, Sports No Comments

Chillicothe High School has fielded some impressive softball teams in the past, however none match the impressive accomplishments of this year’s Chillicothe High School Softball Cavaliers. While compiling the most wins in a single season in program history, the team posted the 3rd best team grade point average in the state of Ohio. The administration and teachers are quite proud of the accomplishments of our student athletes.  Go Lady Cavaliers!

Robbie Vest, the latest Cavalier to Sign for Collegiate Opportunities

High School News, Old News, Sports No Comments

Chillicothe’s Robbie Vest is the latest Cavalier athlete to sign a national letter of intent. Vest will bowl for the University of Pikeville in Kentucky.

The Cavalier senior was honored as the South Central Ohio Conference Player of the Year, the first Chillicothe Bowler to receive the honor. He was in junior high school when the Cavs Bowling program became recognized by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

In a short period of time, he made the SCOC All-Freshmen Team and became a staple All-Conference player his final three seasons.

During Vest’s career, he helped pave the way for an undefeated season in 2010-11, three consecutive conference championships, five different high school tournament victories and a handful of Top 4 finishes, including taking 3rd place in the State Kick-off Tournament last
November.

Vest also became the first Cavalier to reach the State Tournament during the 2011-12 season.

Vest carried an SCOC career average of 213 and has had Chillicothe’s high scoring game the last two seasons.
