A few highlights from 2012-2013 for CHS:
· $6.2 million in scholarship money earned for the Class of 2013
· (Unofficially) All Academic Indicators Met on State Report Card
· All departments met department goals created at the beginning of each school year.
· 65% of all students passed all 5 sections of the OGT the first time
· 13% increase on Science OGT passage in 2 years
· Increased Enrollment
· Three Successful Blood Drives with the American Red Cross
· CHS Band sponsored the Stan Kenton Band
· Successful Inclusion of the Leadership Course: Required for all Freshman Students
· Continued Partnership with Goodwill via Freshman Focus
· Performance Plus: Award students for good behavior, attendance, and grades
· Successfully completed a 15th year of the Diversity Program at CHS
· Continued Implementation Plan for JROTC Program
· Raised $2500 through NHS project for a family in need
· Dominique Wilkins: Slam Dunk Diabetes
· New Athletic League (SCOL)
· SEOAL Champions: Boys Soccer, Girls Tennis, Volleyball, Individual Conference Champions in Wrestling

Chillicothe High School has fielded some impressive softball teams in the past, however none match the impressive accomplishments of this year’s Chillicothe High School Softball Cavaliers. While compiling the most wins in a single season in program history, the team posted the 3rd best team grade point average in the state of Ohio. The administration and teachers are quite proud of the accomplishments of our student athletes. Go Lady Cavaliers!
Please remember that the CHS/CMS Orchestra is holding a Chick Fil A fundraiser on Monday, May 13th from 4:45 – 6:45 p.m. Cost for each meal is $5 and includes a sandwich, chips, and a beverage. Eat your dinner in the cafeteria and stay for the Spring Pops Concert that begins at 7 p.m.
Under the direction of CHS Student Council President Reese Winfield, students from across CHS’ diverse student population offered their thanks and showed their appreciation for the CHS staff, teachers, and administration. An individually written thank you note was given to each member of the CHS team as each was called forward and recognized by a student. A string ensemble performed “A Wonderful World” and Brooke Adkins performed “Colors of the Wind” as part of the festivities. On behalf of the parents of the district, Mrs. Wissler recognized Mr. Saxton for his passion and leadership of the district. A luncheon followed the appreciation assembly which was planned behind the backs of all teachers and administration at the high school. Thanks to Mr. Jon Saxton for working with the CHS Student Council and students to organize and plan this special assembly!
On Monday, May 6th the National French Honor Society held their annual induction ceremony which started with a French 5-course dinner, prepared by the French Honor Society members, was served to attendees prior to the ceremony. Five students were inducted – Jacob Compton, Bethany Dixon, Julius Lee, Amanda Mares, and Aubrey Queen
