The seventh grade teachers put on skits about Habit #1: Be Proactive to introduce the 7 Habits. Teachers used water bottles to represent being proactive (shake it up and it remains calm) and pop bottles to represent being reactive (shake it up and it explodes). Humor was used to show how a reactive and proactive student might react in typical school situations: trying to open a locker, getting ready for class, and bumping into someone in the hallway. Next, the students will be charged with coming up with their own creative ways to demonstrate proactive vs. reactive. Stay tuned!
