The students at Allen Elementary are becoming Reader Leaders with help from their new friend, Ty. Ty is a therapy dog that has been specially trained to work with children. Students in Kindergarten, first, and second grade are getting the opportunity to read with Ty and his handler, on a special “reader leader” blanket. The students are practicing their fluency in order to increase their reading comprehension. We are so thankful to have our new “staff member.” Ty!
