Allen’s Leaders are Runners

Allen School News, Old News 1 Comment

The Allen Running Club, led by Teacher Athlete Leaders Jane Salyers and Monica Halm, is now over 90 members strong.  Their mission is “to lead active and healthy lives.”  Students in grades 1-5 have been participating in the Running Club since September 18, 2012.  Running club members participate every Tuesday from 3:20 to 4:20 with special assistance from volunteer Rosey Hooten, a Certifiied Trainer and Dietican who works at the Chillicothe Fitness and Racquet Club.  The student leader athletes have an “end in mind” to run and host the 2nd Annual Allen Running Club 5K this spring!  Additionally, the leader athletes will have cascading goals for the 1 mile, 3 mile, and 5 mile Club.  They will also be writing action steps for their goals in order to accomplish their “end in mind.”  Keep up the great Habit 7 work, Allen leader athletes!!!!  We are proud of you!
