Everyone’s A Leader at Worthington: Edible Cells in Science

4th grade students in Mrs. Bolyard’s Science class recently concluded their study of cells by creating edible cells. Students used brownies as the cell, paper cupcake liners as cell membrane, pull and peel licorice as the cell wall, icing as cytoplasm, hot tamales as mitochondria, Skittles as chloroplasts, Whoppers as the nucleus, Smarties as vacuoles. Students enjoyed making and eating their plant cells!!
