Donate to Operation School Tools for 2012

It’s time for Operation School Tools 2012. This year the goal is 800 backpacks filled with school supplies to help local students in need.   Items are being collected through the Salvation Army of Chillicothe. Donations may be dropped off until August 10th [9 - noon]. Stuffing of backpacks will be August 13th – volunteers are needed. Students/families may pick up bags on the 14th beginning at 10 a.m. On pick up day there will be activities for families, games, free food, and haircuts,

If you would like to donate, items needed include the following: lunch boxes, backpacks, index cards, pens, pencils, compass, protractor, scissors, glue [sticks or liquid], rulers, erasers, color pencils, markers, folders, binders, pencil boxes, calculators, tissues, hand sanitizer. If your company would like to donate items, volunteers, provide a service, or cash, contact the Salvation Army for details. Participating organizations include the following: Love, Inc [Ross County], Child and Family Services, Ross County United Way, Ross County Adult Parole Authority, CCI, RCI, Integrated Services, Ross County Community Action, Youth Crime Watch, Ross County Sheriff’s Department, Chillicothe Police Department, Tangles Salon, Alvis House, Ross County Red Cross, Ross Go. Monetary donations can be made to Love, Inc of Ross County.  Companies can organize a collection at their location and pick up can be arranged.  Please contact one of the sponsoring organizations for more information.
