It’s Exam Week at CHS

Old News No Comments

The week of May 28th-May 30th is final exam week at Chillicothe High School. The bell schedule will be altered the entire week for exams to provide our students with an adequate amount of time to complete their exams on each given day. Exams will be 76 minutes long. Students will report to their homeroom each morning, if they have an exam that day.

Tuesday’s exams are for periods 1, 3, and 5. Wednesday’s exams are for periods 2, 4, and 6. And Thursday’s exams are for periods 7-8. Each day from 12:58 – 2:15 there will be make-up exams for any student who misses their exam with an excused absence. Students must only report on the days they have exams and to the periods for which they have actual exams for that class. Every academic class offered at CHS will have an exam: students should report at the assigned day, time, and period as shown on page 18 of the CHS Student Handbook. Students who have a study hall, academic coaching, or early release will not have to report to school for exams during those periods and have two options: 1. to leave the school and return later for more exams. 2. report to academic coaching for a 76 minute study hall.

During the three [3] days of exams lunch will be open: this means students can leave CHS and return to the school for their next exam (if they have one). Lunch will be each day from 11:42-12:52. The cafeteria will be open for students at this time but that is the only area of the building which will be open during this hour. Students should report there to eat if they choose to stay at CHS or return to CHS early from lunch.

On Friday, May 31st students are out of school for the summer, but teachers have a work day to grade exams, reflect on the achievements of their students, and finalize end of the year grades.

For more information about CHS exams look to the CHS Student Handbook on page 18 or to the Chillicothe City School District Website.
