A note Regarding Transporation

Fall 2018 Letter re Transportation

Parents and Guardians, please take a few minutes to read this letter from the Interim Superintendent, Debbie Swinehart, regarding bus safety and expectations.

Dear Parents & Guardians,

As we close out the first week of school I want to thank you for your patience the first few days of school with regard to transportation. The district is committed to safely transporting your child to and from their destination, and in order to achieve this please review the following:

  • Kindergarten children must have an adult that greets them when they are getting off the bus.

  • Please be patient and cautious in the student drop off lane at Chillicothe Primary.

  • Please have your child ready at the drop off lane at Chillicothe Primary, lengthy goodbye’s can back up cars and cause students to be tardy.

  • Please remind your young child that they are to get off the bus at their designated stop, the driver can’t give permission for a child to get off the bus with their friend(s) at different stops.

  • Appropriate behavior on the bus is an expectation, please remind your child that discipline issues will be addressed by the building principal.

  • Students that are transferring to another bus to get to Allen or Tiffin need to be mindful of boarding the correct bus, if a student isn’t sure they should ask the driver.

  • If you have to make a change to your child’s transportation arrangements for a day, please notify the building secretary by 11:00 a.m.  It is important that your child arrives home safely and it is not always possible to notify bus drivers, teachers or a child of a change to how they will transported to their home.

  • The bus routes on the district webpage will be updated over the next few days to reflect the changes in pick up and drop off times.

As each day goes by the transportation routine will become easier, thank you for your patience this week. If you have moved or your phone number has changed please make it a priority to update your child’s information in Final Forms or notify the building secretary if you need assistance.  Accurate contact information is essential to the safety and well being of your child.

Thank you for your continued support of your child’s education and partnering with the teachers and staff of your child’s school.
