We had an amazing time & turnout for Literacy Night yesterday! The theme of the night was “One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.” - Malala Yousafzai. We had a ton of student work on display, as well as a myriad of different activities to participate in, including things like face painting, literacy games, and some nature engagement. The Masked Readers were revealed as well. We also had a very special guest reader - Mayor Luke Feeney! Mayor Feeney was gracious enough to come and read stories to our students. Thank you to anyone who helped us to put on the event and to all those who attended!

Happy Monday Cavaliers! NHS held a very successful blood drive with the Red Cross this past Wednesday, January 24th! 36 students, staff, and community members came out to help run the drive and support the Cavalier Cause. We had a total of 14 students, and 22 staff/community members donate blood, surpassing NHS’s goal of reaching 33 units. These units can be used to save up to 99 lives! 26% of those who donated were first time donors. NHS will be holding a second blood drive on April 17th, from 8AM - 2PM in the Cox Gym.

The Chillicothe Kiwanis is in partnership with the 4th Grade Staff at Chillicothe Intermediate School to support the 4th Grade Students through the BUGs, or Bringing Up Grades program. This is designed to support and encourage the students to raise their grades into an acceptable range, and maintain or continue to raise them from one grading period to the next. On January 11th, Chillicothe Kiwanis brought 82 hot fudge sundaes from Dairy Queen to celebrate our 4th grade BUGs!

Chillicothe City Schools honors Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We hope you will all reflect on his messages of peace and equality throughout his life. 💙 Martin Luther King Jr. was a prominent civil rights leader and minister who advocated for racial equality through nonviolent resistance. Born in 1929, he became the face of the American civil rights movement, delivering his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963. King’s tireless efforts led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Tragically, he was assassinated in 1968, but his legacy continues to inspire generations worldwide. #mlkjrday

Welcome Message!
After causing mayhem the last couple of weeks over here at Chillicothe Intermediate School, The Grinch has finally been apprehended! Here is the official statement from our officers: After several mischievous acts including theft, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and breaking and entering into the Chillicothe Intermediate School, it was investigated by our School Resource Officers, and determined to be none other than the notorious green criminal we all know and love as the Grinch. He tried very hard to steal our Christmas Joy, along with food items, and decorations, but due to our swift, fast acting, and smart School Resource Officers Timothy Boltenhouse, Julie Preston, and Darren Hall, in conjunction with the help of Captain Michael Short, the continued destruction and devastation of Christmas was ended. We would like to take this time to wish everyone in Chillicothe a Happy Holiday and a very Happy New Year!

Christmas came early over at Chillicothe Primary School. The students got a surprise visit from Santa Claus and the...Grinch!? A surprising duo given the Grinch's history with Christmas, but he must have turned over a new leaf, since he was here to spread Christmas Cheer (and not steal the kids' presents!) All of our CPS students also received a gift from Thomas Worthington High School. We are so grateful to them for their generosity, and the presents of course! What a great day to kick off our holiday break!
