Graduation was really something special! It is bittersweet to say farewell to the class of 2024. We are so excited to see all the amazing things this group of students will achieve as they move forward, but we will miss their presence throughout the halls of CHS. 🌱 Beautiful Minds Grow Here 🌱
We are so thankful to the Chillicothe-Ross County Chamber of Commerce for inviting us to last night’s awards dinner! Being engaged in the community, and with families and individuals within, and outside of our district is very important to us. We were happy to get to connect with such a wide variety of businesspeople, community members, and more!

Today is Teacher Appreciation Day! We are SO thankful for each and every one of our teachers. Their impact on our students and community deserves to be honored and recognized everyday! Don't forget to thank your teachers!

Over the last few weeks, the CMS 7th grade band students had the opportunity to work on a very unique project, and today, they got to see their work come to life! COSI, the science museum in Columbus, is hosting the COSI Science Festival from May 1 - 4, 2024. As part of the festival, in the atrium just inside the museum, is a Star Wars fan-built exhibit titled The Intergalactic Fan Expo, presented by the TSJ Foundation. The exhibit highlights robotics and STEAM education through the display of Star Wars droids, holograms, 3D printing, coding, and even a tie fighter. As part of the exhibit, we collaborated to create the “Science of Sound,” a STEAM project where our band students learned about sound, learned how their instruments create sound, and designed their own instruments with some Star Wars flair. These instruments are now on display at COSI as part of this exhibit through tomorrow! Today, our students went to Columbus to see the exhibit and their instruments on display. They also got to interact with some of the Star Wars droids. A huge shoutout and thank you to Mr. Judson Burns, our CMS band director, for facilitating this project and opportunity for our 7th grade band students. You can see our CMS & CHS bands in their final concert of the year on Tuesday, May 14th at 7PM. You might even hear some Star Wars music!

Be sure to thank your lunchroom workers today!

The deadline for Summer School registration is right around the corner! Summer school is a great tool for students. Be sure to submit the following form, either by printing it from this post, or reaching out to the office in your student's building.

Happy Administrative Professionals' Day! We are very thankful for all of the work you do throughout our district!

Ready for our final Class of 2024 Top 10 spotlight? We are excited to introduce this year's Valedictorian: Talyn Doss!
Hi! I am Talyn Doss. I serve as the Treasurer for the Class of 2024 Student Council and am a member of Key Club, BETA Club, National Honor Society, and Keys to Success. Additionally, I hold the distinction of being an AP Scholar with Distinction and a National Rural and Small Town Academic Award Winner.
I plan to attend Ohio University as a Cutler Scholar and pursue a double major in Political Science and Health Services Administration, with double minors in Communications and Economics. With these degrees, I aim to work in the medical field on a governmental or administrative level.
First and foremost, I extend my gratitude to my family and friends, who have provided me with unwavering love and support throughout my educational and personal life. I also want to express my appreciation to everyone within the Chillicothe City School District for shaping me into the person I am today and for providing me with such an amazing school and community to be a part of!

Happy Earth Day!

It is another great Monday for a Top 10 introduction!
Hi, I am AJ Noel. I am the salutatorian for the class of 2024. I serve as the Historian for NHS, the Treasurer for NAHS, and the orchestra representative for Tri-M. I am also the concertmaster for our High School's symphonic orchestra!
As of now, I am undecided on where I would like to attend college. Though I am still undecided, I plan on majoring in Biomedical engineering in order to become a doctor. My desire to become a doctor sparked since I recognized my father’s dedication to his work. Working in the medical field will give me the opportunity to help people by alleviating their suffering; this will be my service to humanity.
Thank you to my teachers, friends, and peers for your encouragement and support. To my parents, thank you for your discipline and for always pushing me towards my goals and a successful future. Finally, I would like to thank my three sisters; you have always been great role models and have significantly shaped me into the person I am today.

We have a regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, April 22nd, at 5:00PM.
